Oh 2020. Who could have ever imagined we'd be here right now. And yet, here we are - still plugging along, in new + different ways.
If you didn't already know, RCF is a one-woman-show owned and operated by BIPOC designer-maker Adia Mei Jun Bobo (that's me!). I also work with and for other small businesses and independent artists - groups that you're well aware, have been hit especially hard this year.
Most of the shops and galleries that carried my work have closed (forever) and every one of my in-person shows has been cancelled (with good reason). This year has brought so many changes to the way we operate and uncovered new challenges to sustaining a small creative business. And I'm far from alone - the majority of other artists, makers and independent shops are in the same boat.
You've heard the calls to shop small this holiday season, louder and stronger than ever. If you choose to answer, consider the indie brands below as places to start. Many of these (and other) small businesses are also one-person-shows or small teams so get your orders in early to ensure on-time delivery.

*purchasing artist made and other goods through places like a small store allows them to continue buying from makers and other vendors - its like helping two businesses at once :)!
As for me and RCF, final call for holiday orders from the Ready to Ship collection is December 17th. For made to order items in Silver, deadline is Monday December 7th. Made to order items in any other finish will not arrive until post-holiday.
